BlueScope "COLORBOND® STEEL THE SHOW" National Promotion 2024 Terms and conditions
- Information on how to enter, register and details of the prizes for the “COLORBOND® STEEL THE SHOW” promotion (“Promotion”) form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Promoter
- The promoter is BlueScope Steel Limited (ABN 16 000 011 058) of Level 24, 181 Williams Street, Melbourne Victoria, 3000 (“Promoter”).
Eligibility Requirements
- Subject to clause 5, entry is only open to individuals who meet the following requirements (“Eligible Homeowners”):
- are an Australian resident homeowner aged 18 years or older;
- have purchased one (1) or more products made from COLORBOND® steel totalling a minimum of $500 including GST (material only – excludes installation and delivery costs) for a residential property they own, from any business or businesses in Australia which sells genuine COLORBOND® steel products, between 30 June 2023 and up until 30 November 2024 (“Eligible Purchase”). For the sake of clarity, the $500 minimum spend requirement may be made across multiple transactions and/or multiple businesses (e.g. $250 on genuine COLORBOND® steel product/s in one transaction, and $250 on genuine COLORBOND® steel product/s in another transaction); and
- where part or whole of the Eligible Purchase is for a roof, then the roof must be installed (or if not yet installed, must be planned to be installed) using genuine COLORBOND® steel all-round (i.e. fascia, guttering and flashing must all be made from genuine COLORBOND® steel). However, if the Eligible Purchase is for a COLORBOND® steel gutter then they are not required to also have a COLORBOND® steel roof/fascia to be eligible for entry.
- Entry is not open to directors, management, employees, officers and contractors of, nor to the Immediate Families of directors, management, employees, officers and contractors of:
- the Promoter;
- businesses which sell genuine COLORBOND® steel
- agencies and organisations associated with this Promotion
Promotional Period
- Promotion commences on 12.00am AEST 30 June 2024 and ends at 11.59pm AEDST on 30 November 2024 (“Promotional Period”).
How to Enter (Homeowners)
- To enter, an Eligible Homeowner must submit a completed entry form during the Promotional Period by visiting COLORBOND.COM/STEELTHESHOW, following the prompts to the entry page and providing the requested details including:
- Details of their Eligible Purchase (including the product purchased, the address associated with the Eligible Purchase, confirmation that the products made from COLORBOND® steel are a minimum $500 including GST, the business from whom the Eligible Purchase was made (“Eligible Business”) and the Eligible Business’s contact details);
- If known, details of the business who supplied the COLORBOND® steel to the Eligible Business and the name of the employee/manager/owner (“Eligible Supplier”);
- An answer the promotional question “What inspired you to choose COLORBOND® steel?” in 25 words or less. /
For the sake of clarity, if an Eligible Homeowner makes their Eligible Purchase across multiple Eligible Businesses (e.g. $250 spent on genuine COLORBOND® steel product/s at one (1) Eligible Business, and $250 on genuine COLORBOND® steel product/s at another Eligible Business), then an Eligible Homeowner only needs to nominate one (1) of those Eligible Businesses (of their choice) on the entry form. If an Eligible Homeowner is unsure of the correct name of the Supplier used for their Eligible Purchase, they can use the ‘Other” field and the Promoter will liaise with the Eligible Homeowner at the time of winner notification (should they be deemed a winner) to determine the associated Eligible Supplier.
Where an Eligible Homeowner has submitted an entry based on an Eligible Purchase that forms part of a larger contract, such as a home build, the contract must be dated and signed, and deposit taken to be deemed valid for the purposes of this Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to invalidate an entry if the Eligible Homeowner is unable to provide sufficient evidence of payment of the deposit on the contract that includes the COLORBOND® steel product/s.
- Multiple entries per Eligible Homeowner are permitted, subject to the following: (a) each entry must be substantially unique; and (b) each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with entry requirements. For clarity, an Eligible Homeowner who has made one (1) Eligible Purchase may submit multiple entries, so long as each entry has a substantially unique response to the question “What inspired you to choose COLORBOND® steel?”. If an Eligible Homeowner has made multiple Eligible Purchases (for example one Eligible Purchase for a roof and one Eligible Purchase for a fence), the Eligible Homeowner may submit multiple entries for each Eligible Purchase, given the inspiration may vary.
- Eligible Homeowners must retain their original contract/s, invoice/s, receipt/s and/or evidence of payment of deposit as proof of purchase. Failure to produce sufficient proof of purchase for their entry when requested may, in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, result in invalidation of the Eligible Homeowner’s entry and forfeiture of any right to a prize. Proof of purchase must clearly specify the Eligible Business, the Eligible Purchase in accordance with the eligibility criteria as set out in clause 3(b) and (c), and that the Eligible Purchase was made between 30 June 2023 and 30 November 2024.
State Group Monthly Entry Periods & State Group Monthly Prizes
- There will be five (5) Monthly Entry Periods for this Promotion as per the below table (“Monthly Entry Period”). Valid entries received for each Monthly Entry Period will be divided into eight (8) “State Groups”, based on the location in which the Eligible Homeowner had (or will have) their Eligible Purchase installed (as detailed on their entry): (1) NSW; (2) ACT; (3) VIC; (4) TAS; (5) QLD; (6) SA; (7) NT; and (8) WA. Entries open at 12:00am and close at 11:59pm for each State Group Monthly Entry Period on the dates outlined in the table below. The judging for each Monthly Entry Period will take place at Tower A, Level 7, 201 Coward Street, Mascot NSW 2061, and will commence after entries close for each Monthly Entry Period. Non-winning entries into each State Group Monthly Entry Period will be entered into any subsequent State Group Monthly Entry Period. At the end of each Monthly Entry Period, the Promoter will judge each entry for each State Group based on literary and creative merit of the answer provided to the promotional question. Judges will not have access to other information provided by an Eligible Homeowner (including information about their suppliers) prior to determining that the Eligible Homeowner entry is the best valid entry for a State Group in a Monthly Entry Period. Judges will be employees within the Promoter’s Australian marketing division. The Promoter may select additional reserve entries which it determines to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid entry or ineligible homeowner.

- If an Eligible Business is listed on a Finalist’s entry form, then the Eligible Business will, subject to these terms and conditions, also win $2,000 (“Business Minor Prize”). If the Eligible Business has a policy which permits any prizes won in a competition/promotion by that Eligible Business to be distributed to an employee/owner/manager of that Eligible Business, the Eligible Business may at its absolute discretion decide to transfer that prize in accordance with the Eligible Business’s policies. The Promoter is not responsible for any taxation or other legal obligations that arise from any resulting transfer of a prize from an Eligible Business to another person. In the event of a disagreement as to whom a Business Minor Prize should be awarded, the Promoter’s decision will be final. Where a winning Finalist has not included an Eligible Business as part of their winning entry, the Promoter will liaise with the Finalist to determine the Eligible Business so that the Business Minor Prize may, at the Promoter’s discretion, be awarded.
Homeowner Major Prize
- At the end of the Promotional Period and following the awarding of prizes for Monthly Entry Period 5, the Promoter will re-judge each of the Finalists’ entries based on literary and creative merit of the answer provided to the promotional question. Re-judging will be performed by judges who are employees within the Promoter’s Australian marketing division and who have not previously judged any of the previous Monthly Entry Periods. Judges in the re-judging process will not have access to other information provided by an Eligible Homeowner (including information about their suppliers) prior to determining that the Eligible Homeowner entry is the best overall valid Finalist entry. The Promoter may select additional reserve entries which they determine to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid entry or ineligible entrant.
- Provided their entry is not otherwise invalidated in accordance with these terms and conditions, the best overall valid Finalist entry as determined by the judges, and once verified by the Promoter, will win $100,000 “Major Prize”.
- If an Eligible Business and an Eligible Supplier is listed on the Major Prize winning Finalist’s entry form, then the Eligible Business and the Eligible Supplier will, subject to these terms and conditions, each also win $50,000 (each a “Major Trade Prize”). If the Eligible Business/Eligible Supplier has a policy which permits any prizes won in a competition/promotion by that Eligible Business/Eligible Supplier to be distributed to an employee/owner/manager of that Eligible Business/Eligible Supplier, the Eligible Business/Eligible Supplier may at its absolute discretion decide to transfer that prize in accordance with the Eligible Business’s or Eligible Supplier’s policies. The Promoter is not responsible for any taxation or other legal obligations that arise from any resulting transfer of a prize from an Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier to another person. In the event of a disagreement as to whom a Major Trade Prize should be awarded, the Promoter’s decision will be final. Where a winning Finalist has not included an Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier as part of their winning entry, the Promoter will liaise with the winning Finalist to determine the Eligible Business and/or Eligible Supplier so that the Major Trade Prize may, at the Promoter’s discretion, be awarded.
Winner Notification
- Finalists, winning Eligible Businesses and winning Eligible Suppliers, will be notified in writing.
Minor Business Prizes and Major Trade Prizes
- Minor Business Prizes and/or any Major Trade Prizes will only be awarded to businesses that install/supply genuine COLORBOND® steel products in Australia and have a valid ABN (or employees/owners/managers thereof). No prizes will be awarded to an owner, manager, employee of an Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier who is also a director, a part of management, an employee, an officer or contractor of the Promoter who is directly involved in the management of the Promotion or an agency associated with this Promotion (or an Immediate Family member of such person). If an Eligible Homeowner nominated such a person on entry and that Eligible Homeowner is deemed a winner, the relevant Minor Business Prize or Major Trade Prize will then be awarded to another person at the Eligible Business at which such person is employed or the Eligible Business directly, as determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
General Conditions
- Unless otherwise advised, all prizes will be awarded in the form of an electronic funds transfer (EFT). Winners are responsible for providing full and accurate bank details. The Promoter will not be responsible for incorrect details being provided, a banking institution rejecting an EFT payment, or any costs associated with locating any lost monies.
- In the event that there is any dispute to whom an Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier prize must be awarded, the Promoter’s decision will be final.
- The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries, Eligible Homeowners, Eligible Businesses and Eligible Suppliers and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Eligible Homeowner, Eligible Business and/or Eligible Supplier who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry/registration process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. As a condition of entry, Eligible Homeowners consent to the Promoter visiting a provisional winner’s property to ensure all requirements have been met, and to the Promoter taking other verification measures deemed by the Promoter to be necessary before awarding any prize. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid.
- If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, Eligible Homeowner, Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant, Eligible Homeowner, Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier.
- The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- If for any reason a winner does not take/claim a prize at or by the time stipulated by the Promoter, or do anything else that the Promoter may reasonably require the winner to do to take/claim their prize, then the prize will be forfeited.
- Total prize pool value is $360,000.
- Prizes, or any unused portion of the prize, are not transferable.
- As a condition of claiming a prize, Eligible Homeowners and employees, owners and managers on behalf of Eligible Businesses and Eligible Suppliers consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
- If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant, Eligible Homeowner, Eligible Business or Eligible Supplier; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate.
- Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the Eligible Homeowner’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.

- their Content shall not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity;
- they will obtain prior consent from any person or from the owner(s) of any property that appears in their Content;
- the Content is the original literary work of the Eligible Homeowner that does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- they consent to any use of the Content which may otherwise infringe the Content creator’s/creators’ moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and warrant that they have the full authority to grant these rights; and
- they will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use of others' computer or communication systems.

- Liability for any tax (other than FBT) arising out of participation in this Promotion (including acceptance of a prize) is the sole responsibility of the Eligible Homeowner, Eligible Business and/or Eligible Supplier. Independent financial advice should be sought in this regard.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act (Cth) or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion.
