This season, COLORBOND® steel is seen on The Block from Day 1.
The Block has a tree-change
The Block in 2022 takes things in an exciting new direction as, for the first time ever, it heads out of the bustling city and off to the beautiful Macedon Ranges in regional Victoria. A 70 acre property set amongst lush countryside in Gisborne South has been divided into six separate acreages, five for the contestant couples to build their impressive country mansions, and one for Scott Cam. That’s right, this year Scotty’s putting his skills to the test and actually building a home alongside the contestants.
Steel makes it happen
Across all of the properties, COLORBOND® steel will feature applications ranging across roofing, walling, gutters, downpipes, fascia, sheds and water tanks. The choice of colours and textures in the COLORBOND® steel will play an important role in complementing the surrounding landscape while helping link the historic, older houses with their adjoining extensions. Those extensions will all be built using frames made from TRUECORE® steel; a major factor in achieving the impressive scale and design of the internal spaces and external openings.
It's going to be an exciting 12 weeks watching these impressive country mansions rapidly come to life in such a beautiful location.
This year might be the biggest Block ever, but it also features a very exciting small addition for the very first time.
In Week 2, our VIC Colour + Design professional Ali Fenton, visited the Gisborne site to have onsite catch ups with House 1 and Scott Cam’s house.
The move to Gisborne in regional Victoria provides COLORBOND® steel with the opportunity to use more colours then ever before!

We’ve had an incredible time on The Block where we’ve had the chance to showcase a range of our colours, textures and applications. We thought we’d share some of our favourite moments from the past few years.
Since their stint on The Block in 2012’s ‘Fans vs. Favs’, Kyal and Kara have been busy in the design and building game.
After winning The Block Glasshouse with his brother, Shannon in 2014, Simon has stayed in the property game and recently finished his own home renovation with his designer wife, Ash.
