COLORBOND® steel is featured from the very first episode of The Block this year.
Each year, contestants are faced with a massive and overwhelming challenge to create a luxury home, often with very little building experience. To help them visualise how they might bring this to life, renders have been created for each house, giving contestants a vision of the finished homes to aspire to.
Excitingly, these exterior renders give us a glimpse of the featured COLORBOND® steel roofs, and how they complement the surrounding landscapes, materials and colour schemes in both form and function. Watch The Block each week to see these visions come to life.
House 1:
House 1 features a classic gable roof in COLORBOND® steel in the colour Monument® Matt, in a corrugated profile.
House 2:
House 2 features a large span flat roof made from COLORBOND® steel in the calm and cool colour Wallaby®, in a trapezoidal profile.
House 3:
House 3 features a classic gable roof in COLORBOND® steel in the colour Surfmist®, in a corrugated profile.
House 4:
House 4 features a large span flat roof made from COLORBOND® steel in the colour Woodland Grey®, in a trapezoidal profile.
House 5:
House 5 features a classic gable roof in COLORBOND® steel in the colour Basalt® Matt, in a corrugated profile.
We can’t wait to see how these builds progress – and how closely the contestants bring these inspirational renders to life!
This year’s houses on The Block were, for the first time in the program’s history, completely new builds.
For the ninth year in a row on The Block, COLORBOND® steel has played an important role in helping the teams produce some very impressive properties. And they went all the way to Daylesford to do it!
For the first time, each of the houses on this year’s Block were completely new builds - that presented a great opportunity to embrace the increasingly popular concept of “biophilic design”.
To celebrate nine years of inspiring COLORBOND® steel transformations on The Block, we look back on some of the most memorable seasons.
